Hi All,
Just a quick post because I've been terrible about blogging this month.
I finished a couple of figures and posted them over at the Old World Army Challenge here. You should really take a look at all the entries, but if you only have time for one you owe it to yourself to take a look at Tom's Dwarves.
Anyway, here's my guys.
My leader, Zazad the Eternal (thanks random name generator), and the standard bearer for my skeleton troops.
Death, from Skull and Crown's Triumph of Death, came with two arm options.
I wasn't able to decide on the arm options so I tried magnetizing. It worked more or less. I also inadvertently changed the head position after breaking his head off before even prepping him.
I last minute decided to give him a sword after looking at the box art.
My posing has left him a tad unbalanced so he needs to be placed carefully to not fall forward and to the right.
June is going to be hectic, so we'll see if I can get the last two units done, in addition to my BOYL and local gaming projects.
Thanks for looking.

My April Submission to the OWAC2.
Hi All,
Well I finally got my skeletons and Zombies finished.
Here they are.
10 Skeleton "archers" from Skull and Crown: Triumph of Death
And 20 of the plastic boxed set of Zombies from Games Workshop. Which they still sell here.
I thought I'd give you a close up of the banner as well. In the next few days I'll do a post on how I did it. I call it paint by numbers, as I can't draw very well. It involves stitching together various line art in GIMP or Photoshop and then printing it out on paper and coloring within the lines.
The skeletons were once again base coated white and then slathered in a mix of yellow and brown ink before being drybrushed with the Reaper Bone Triad. The zombies were base coated grey and painted with Reaper's Undead Skin Tone Triad. I tried to use some color desaturated with grey, it was so so in my opinion. I also painted some areas that were intended to be flesh as cloth, such as the banner bearers legs. The exposed muscles and guts got a wash of Purple and Red ink, with the guts getting an additional light highlight, I think of slate green.
Anyway, I'm glad to see the back of these. I will be working on the Plague Cart and Grim Reapers for May.
Thanks for looking and commenting.

Paint Table Saturday 278 - Completed Skeletons
Hi All,
Well, I'm sorry about the extra spotty posting of late. Track Season and being sick have effected hobby output across the board. Although I didn't finish the figures I had planned to do, I managed to fulfill my 200 point obligation to the Old World Army Challenge.
I am at that point of the year where I am frustrated with a lot in life. To use a cliche, I'm not sure I'm living my "best life." Anyway, I'm taking a break from social media etc for now to try and really accomplish my hobby goals. If you're curious about how I painted these I encourage you to read it on the Old World blog. It's very straight forward and easy.
I'd like to welcome Ed Gladdis to the blog, sorry to be a downer before welcoming you. Ed is a super talented painter and has his own blog The Work of Shaitan. You owe it to yourself to follow him.
Thanks for looking.
Happy painting.

Paint Table Saturday 268 - Undead and IG
Hi All,
Still unpainted, but slightly more assembled this week.
Here is the 1000 points arrayed. Nowhere near as far along as they should be. Oh well.
The Command section I'll be adding to my existing IG squad for the local campaign I've been invited to. I'm trying to ridge the gap between the compendium and 2nd Ed 40K IG lists with 2000 era figures. Above is the medic, Lieutenant, banner orderly and Lascannon team.
This is the squad they will join. I painted them last year. I will swap out the Vox Caster for a guy with a grenade launcher.
Thanks for looking, happy painting and happy holidays.

The Sword of Light and Good - An Oldhammer Battle Report
Hi All,
I finally have some good WiFi and a little time, so I finished putting this battle report together. This was a learning game with lots of house rules and flavor added by the GM. I hope it inspires you to dust of your minis and use them in anger.
(As always, right click on the image and open in a new tab/window to see it in its full bigness.)

Oldhammer USA Weekend - Battle at the Tower of Ytsur
Hi All,
My final battle of the weekend saw my orcs fielded once again with Dustin as my co-general against VT Chris's smartly painted Bretonnians.
Once again we decided to forego Magic except for magic items. We tried to use formations and had a very relaxed conversation about various rules as we played. It was a really great way to continue relearning this game.
For the report I used the Blue - Orange template in Comic Life 3. The program is still saving in a weird place but I'm able to save the jpegs where I can find them.
If you have trouble seeing the individual panels, try right clicking on the images and opening them in a new window/tab. I try to make them as big as I can, but the page and the light box are only so big. I need to overhaul the blog's design, perhaps how it displays images should be a priority.

Oldhammer USA - The Battle of Rusty's Farm
Hi All,
This was the first Warhammer 3rd Ed. battle that I had fought in about 24 years. I tried to make an army list, but all I had was infantry and no real clue what I was doing. A big thank you to my co-general Richard "Orc Lord" for putting up with my wonky deployment and organizational choices, and our opponents Andrew, Dustin and PA Chris for helping me muddle through a game.
For the following Comic I used Comic Life 3 (as per usual) but without a template. I learned how to texture the page in the program and played round with the formatting of the panels. Lettering (the sound effects things) are still a challenge, let me know if I went too heavy handed.
I chose not to do filters on the images, except for the first one. I find that most filters make the images impossible to make out.
Enjoy.

Oldhammer USA Weekend - Frog Hunt
Continuing on with the games from Oldhammer USA Weekend, here is Brian's Frog Hunt scenario.
Lisanne (Lisanne Du Lac) came in from the Northwest, PA Chris (Christophe De La Foret) from the Southwest, Tom - then Jeff & Hannah - (Thomas Geoffroy D'Hannah) from the Northeast, and myself (Hugues Du Gros Baton) from the Southeast.
We used cards from the Triumph and Treachery set, but I forgot to play mine and it cost me the game. Oh well.
I used Comic Life 3, Super Retro template. It has only one style for the image filters so I set the filter level to it's lowest to keep the images from blowing out. Let me know what you think.
All French terms in this report have been created using an internet translator and should be read aloud with an "outrageous accente!"
There you have it. It was a great introduction to the weekends gaming and Brian really helped those of us (ok, me) who hadn't played in a very long time.
Next up, my O&G army gets a game in for the first time since 1991.
And welcome to Whiskey Priest of The Leadpile. It's been awhile since I've checked in with his blog, but if memory serves he has some truly awesome Rogue Trader scenery and game write ups.
