Hi All,
This week seemed to be filled with everything but hobby time. My son ran an amazing 3000m this morning and may have qualified for the National meet later this Summer. I'll know for sure tomorrow.
I mostly painted the horse flesh and underneath the caparisons, so it doesn't look like much has happened.
I added a chimney, finished tiling the roof, and then put some active mesh in the windows to act as window leading. This is not in the original build instructions, I just thought it would look nice.
I also received my foam coat from Hotwire Foam Factory to try and put a protective coating on my Mighty Fortress.
That's all for now.
Happy Hobbying!
Any progress is good!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Thanks Legatus.
DeleteWhat is the mesh that you used? I've been trying to find a good option locally and failing.
ReplyDeleteHi Blue, I pm'd you but it's something called activ wire mesh. I bought it at a craft store. Its intended use is as an armature for pottery made from oven bake clay.
DeleteNice progress. The mesh looks good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon. I thought I was coming up with the idea myself, but the photos from the article clearly show some kind of mesh lattice in the windows. I've only been skimming the article, so I'm not sure if they address that in the build instructions.
DeleteAs others have said, all progress is good! And congratulations to your son as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks on both accounts Hugh.
DeleteOlympic glory in his future?! Well done to the lad.
ReplyDeleteBits and pieces done is better than fuck-all. Good stuff Sean.
Hi Dai, I don't know about Olympics, but he's performing like I thought he could if he tried. One of the top runners in the state. Yes, any progress is good progress.
