Hi All,
Our next game at the con was run by the inimitable Thomas Foss using his 54mm wooden figures and the Osprey rule set Pikeman's Lament.
The idea of a little role play for our regiment leader was fun, but we failed to hit any of our targets for honor bonuses.
You can read Thomas's recap here. You can find the rules here.
I chose to use the rotoscope filter on the pictures for this one. I think it helps the vibrance of the figures translate.
Thanks for looking.
How brilliant is that!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael, it was a grand game.
DeleteBrilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gordon, glad you liked it.
DeleteVery cool
ReplyDeleteThanks Tyler, the game was good and Thomas Foss is a cool dude.
DeleteLove it. love it, love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've still to give the rules a try (need some mini's first!), but your AAR write up has spurred me on thanks.
Fantastic stuff, and I'm just going to HAVE to steal your comic book style for my own battle reports (when they start).
Thanks Wargame Addict. I've only played two games of Dan Mersey's rules but they make for fun games. I highly recommend Comic Life for doing a lot of the heavy lifting on the comic. I can do it in a graphics or photo editor but you have everything comic related at you fingertips with the program. It does take a little time to learn and CL3 can have a lot of lag. Just be forewarned.
DeleteWow - that looks even better with those filters than the untouched photos you showed us last weekend.
ReplyDeleteWas skeptical at first when I saw the wooden childlike units, but I warmed to them moreso the further into your report I got.
Thanks Dai, actually the toy soldier aspect makes it even more fun. I think it works especially well for this Imagi Nation type game.
DeleteOMG- I've been so busy with the kickstarter I totally missed your post on the battle, Sean. You are like Willy Wonka- making everything better with your touch! So cool- thanks for sharing. I'm gonna push this to my blog.
ReplyDeleteCheers

Thanks Foss, I somehow missed your comment. I feel like the game and figures were already great. I feel like I need to invest in a Louis the XIV wig for next year.
DeleteA wig it is, then!
