Oldhammer in the New World Zine Vol.1 Iss.1 is Live!

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know that you can download the first issue of the Oldhammer in the New World Zine from the files section of the facebook group here.

Please forgive any mistakes, I tried to catch what I could, but editing by oneself can be difficult. I hope this gets you all fired up to game, paint and share your exploits.

If you want to contribute, just let me know.

Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Hi Clarence, that would be awesome. When I thought about doing a segment on terrain builds, your 40K tower was one of the things I was specifically thinking of.

    2. I'll be happy to simply supply photos for the gallery section, but I'll try to write a more substantial article of some kind as well...

    1. You're welcome Andrew. We'll talk about getting some of your photos in the next one. I just wanted to get this one out before the various upcoming events happened.

  4. A cracking first effort Sean! I thoroughly enjoyed reading the mag and it has a great community vibe.

Thanks for the props regards Wargame Bloggers Quarterly. Hopefully you have a better run with ongoing content submissions than we did. The lack of material is what forced us to put it to bed in the end.

    1. Hi Millsy, glad you liked it. I feel partly responsible for the demise of WBQ. I always intended to submit something but either felt too busy or like my content wasn't good enough. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to make it as painless as possible to include stuff.

    2. I played with other minis as a kid, no GW. Now, I am starting to collect some Battle for Skull Pass figures. Would that be considered"Old Hammer" or is it too modern? Just curious...

    3. Hi Andrew. I spent decades out of the hobby after a brief start in the early 90's. The strictest definitions of Oldhammer have it as metal minis from the 80's to maybe 1994 at best. Most of us play 3rd Edtion rules. Midhammer is 4th and 5th eds and 6th on up is generally termed Newhammmer. I believe the Battle for Skull Pass introduced the 7th Edition Warhammmer rules. You can post if you like, but you will get blowback that they are not "Oldhammmer". I personally am not too fussed, I use mostly old but also some new and some other manufacturers even. But I always try to keep it Oldhammmer in spirit, if that makes sense. Hope that helps.
