Elder Signs, Arkham Horror Lite?

Late to the party as usual, I came across Elder Signs at Barnes and Noble the other day.

Now aside from being a bad ass trailer, this game looks pretty interesting. As far as I can tell it has all the flavor of Arkham Horror without all the stuff. Therefore it doesn't take up quite so much space. I also kind of like the specialty dice and their mechanic for accomplishing tasks.

Another plus is they seem to say it can be played solo and best of all, it's half the price of Arkham Horror. I'm definitely putting this on my wishlist.

They also have an iOS Android OS version called Elder Signs: Omens. The review I read said it was worth it on a tablet. I'll stay away from that as I do not have a tablet and I oppose pay apps on principal.

  1. I bought them on sale at the FLGS and although I have not played it yet, I like the format better than the original Arkham Horror board game. No game boards to warp!

  2. You might be late to the party but I didn't get invited, didn't know about this until now!

  3. Great trailer! Looks like an interesting game. Hopefully it doesn't make the single player experience too difficult like other FFG games (Death Angel in particular!)

  4. I'm playing the Android version of Elder Signs (Elder Signs: Omens) on my smart phone. Works very well. Really good graphics and fun to play. I haven't played the "real" board game though, but from what I have read, they are very close to each other. So, in short, Elder Signs (any version), is a good game! =)

  6. I have the iphone version and have played the board game. While the phone version is a nice lite version, the board game has a lot more options and while I like the iphone version, the board game is better IMO. Slightly different game to arkham horror, but so much quicker to set up.
