As another interlude during the last week of the challenge I thought I'd share with you some sweet stuff that fellow Oldhammer: Dark Future group member Christopher Regan sent me.
Dark Future metals in front. Looks like 600124, 600148, 600161 and 600158 that you can see at solegends. They are backed up by those aberrant figures, the hotwheels on the left and theAberrant Interceptor on the right. In the middle are two resin buggies from aberrant that Christopher also gave me.
So I do want more actual DF figures, but I haven't broken down enough to try and get them at the prices I'm seeing at the moment. The Apocalypse miniatures recommended in the files section look like they might be good.
I also recommend going to your local Target/ Walmart or what have you for getting cars to mod. My Target had a whole slew ow Hot Wheels for 97 cents.
As is tradition here on the blog I'll wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day. Pandora suggested a holiday channel which introduced me to The Tossers, enjoy:
I don't drink green beer myself, but when I was a brewer I made it by the keg so I wouldn't be left with too much and the Bartenders would have to make it themselves. It sells like crazy. Go figure. How do you know you've had too much Green beer? When your piss turns green.
And to follow that gem, wlecome to new follower PaulJ. Sorry Paul. I don't see a link to your blog in your friend connect. Let me know if you have one and I'll add a link.
Thanks
ReplyDeleteMy blog is -http://paintinglittlesoldiers.blogspot.co.nz/ but I don't use it that often - I wont be insulted if its not linked ;)
And always good to see a lass sipping a pint of the good stuff. Up the dubs !
Cheers
Hi Jacko, are you also know as PaulJ? I just like to acknowledge followers and try to send a little cross traffic their way. I'll check out your blog. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteAye I have some of the Apoc bikes and they are great there peds are a little large though, I went wish Elheim for the most part on my choice of peds though s they do great Cultists and a nie Madam Whiplash sculpt.
ReplyDeleteHi Chico, I have some Elheim stuff for zombies and pulp. It looks like they've been expanding and have some cool stuff. I'm also intrigued by Stan Johansen. And yes, Madam Whiplash makes a good PA Biker leader.
DeleteDark Future figures certainly fit well with widely-available toy cars - nice score!
ReplyDeleteThe whole American obsession with turning things green on one day of the year is something that puzzles and bemuses most of the rest of the world, I think. Certainly I find it very odd :-) !
Hi Hugh, yes St. Patrick's day in the US is a strange phenomenon. The people who seem to be the most zealous about it are not even of Irish extraction. I've had a few occasions where I forgot to wear green but I just tell those who give me a hard time that I'm Irish every day. Despite the fact that my Mother was a Kearney, Irish is probably the smallest contribution to my genetics. A guy I worked with, Murray, said that St. Patrick's day was for amateurs. In our little family we try to at the very least cook up a corned beef. It was delicious.
DeleteOK, you've finally convinced me. I'm going 20mm for DF and my son totally loves the idea. We'll have to drop in on the local toyshop this week to start our vehicle collection. I hope you feel badly guilty!
ReplyDeleteIn other news I was our your way this week touring Arizona - Grand Canyon, Sedona, Salt River/Red Rock. I had hoped I would get some time in Phoenix and be able to hook up with you but I literally spent 1 hour in the city waiting for the plane. oh well, it wasn't for lack of trying anyway! A really beautiful state you have there, very special. Reminds me a lot of the Australian Outback ... where Mad Max films were made!
Hi Paul, strangely I don't feel that bad ;). I hope to be reading of your road rage soon.
ReplyDeleteArizona is very beautiful and you definitely picked a good time to come. No problem for not stopping by, I totally understand. When we were in Europe last spring I had no time to visit with fellow bloggers.
Just wanted you to know that I have a growing collection of hot wheels cars thanks to you...
ReplyDeleteGreat news Paul. In some way I feel it's only fair. I started collecting figures for Dark Ages and Mythos after reading you blog. Unfortunately my ADD has seen me move on to the next project I will never complete. Part of the hobby I guess.
DeleteFair is fair then! We all have Hobby ADD though. The issue I think is one of storage. I find I inevitably come back to a genre and want to play it again, though admittedly that does takes years. So I have those big watertight containers from Home Hardware filled with goodies in the roof, under the house etc so getting back into a genre is both cheap and a lot of fun finding old treasures!
DeleteI have been finding some treasures recently. My decision to save all of my old GW seems to be paying off. Although 20+ years is a little long.
