The forces of Northern Tropilium

So I'm trying to get these two Armies ready for the next Talomir campaign battle. You can read about the first two battles of the Autumn of 995, Lettum Pass and Face of the Demon. I, of course, am still scrambling to have remotely playable forces. I never learn.

The forces of Northern Tropilium are supposed to represent Later Western Rome, so I will reuse many of the figures that I used to fight the other battle with Tropilium proper. You can see them here in Final Countdown?

The Army list is:

2 units Clibnarii (6 figures, not painted or based) - I'm going to use my Mongols as a substitute because they look a lot like the available Cataphract type figures on the market. And I don't have any of those.

2 units of Legionaries (8 figures, blocked and based. Mostly touch up and highlights) Italeri Republican Romans.

3 units of Auxiliary Infantry (12 figures, all based and primed. 4 blocked, 8 flesh only) Zvezda Roman Aux.

1 unit of Archers (2 figures,  based and blocked) Zvezda Roman Aux.

1 Ballista (1 engine, crew not specified, I have 6, based and flesh blocked) HaT Greek Catapult.

1 Auxiliary Cavalry (2 figures, based primed and blocked, horses need a lot of work) Italeri Roman Cav.

In actual games played news, we got in a game of Life and started a game of Machinas. This is a milestone because it is the first time my wife and daughter have acquiesced to play a "war game", even if it is Poat Apocalyptic racing. We hit a bit of a hiccup as I had a crisis of confidence and we paused the game in the middle of the first turn. My back has absolutely been killing me the last couple of days and being thrown around be other grown men in the afternoon did not help matters. I'm hoping we can resume tonight. I may still have it wrong but I at least have a cogent plan for how to deal with the rules questions as I see them at this point. I also realize now that we have set up our cars wrong, but I won't worry about that right now. My son has attempted to pass me, and after a successful attempt decided to shoot my car with his grenade launcher. I have lost some speed due to damage and will let you know what transpires.

Welcome to Mike Reynolds. I don't see a blog listed for you, so let me know if you have one and I will follow you back and link it here.

Hope you all are having an enjoyable holiday.

  4. Well, although you were nominated 6 months ago, I again nominate you for the Liebster Blog Award. They really should keep better track of these things, but hey, you deserve it! http://www.royalistroundhead.blogspot.com/2014/05/leibster-blog-award.html

    1. Hi Justin, thanks for the nomination. I didn't realize I was nominated only six months ago, I thought it was a year or more.
