I met a strange man on the internet

And a battle report ensued.

Hi All,

Got a chance to meet up with fellow Oldhammerer and top bloke Dai from over at The Lost the damned and the stunted.

We had some wine, talked about all sorts of stuff, looked at his miniatures and then had a quick game of Dragon Rampant before I had to hit the road. It was great.

Please forgive the crap cellphone pictures, I was travelling light. The game was more climactic than the report makes it appear. We both got down to our leader and one unit left on the table, his one unit just happened to be a giant.

Dragon Rampant gave a quick, simple game and we each got to roll satisfying handfuls of dice.

Here's the report, right click to embiggen.

Score +1 for fun and Oldhammer West of the Mississippi. Since I'm out his way a couple of times a year to visit family we'll probably get together and game again. Next time I'll be more organized. I promise. ;)

    1. Thanks Airborne, it was a good time. I don't know why the first two pages look pixelated on my page? They look fine when you open them in a new tab. Do they look ok to you?

    2. The are pixelated, ut fine when you tab them. When I looked at them before on my phone they were fine. I wouldnt worry about it. Unless it starts happening frequently. What dpi did you export them as?

    3. I exported them at 150, same as always. The internet out here is sketchy and I'm not sure if it was an upload issue or what. Very odd.

  2. So glad you could drop by Sean! I really need to re-read the Dragon Rampant rules cos I'm sure it plays a tad more complicated than we were playing. Still, like you said, dice were rolled, the game was fun and there was alcohol. Job done.

    1. Thanks Dai, it was great to meet up. Yeah hopefully I'll unearth my copy and get a game or two in before the Summer, when I return.

    1. Thanks Gordon. Playing got in the way of recording the game, so there was a tad more to it than portrayed. But the main thing is that the Giant crushed everything wants he got in reach of it.

  4. I'm sorely disappointed in the picture quality. Surely you could have set up a whole studio lighting set and a large format camera to acutely photograph the events 😜

    Glad you two had fun!

    1. Thanks Andrew. I have my Nikon, I just was travelling light to go to Dai's place. I also feel like my LG G# is just inferior to an iPhone when it comes to photography.

    1. Hi Iannick, yeah it seemed pretty straight forward and we got to run out a bunch of models and roll handfuls of dice. I definitely want to play it more.

  7. I'm really happy to hear that you two were able to meet up and make the magic happen.

Skegg looks like my kind of giant.

    1. Hi Matthew, yeah I was glad we did it. All the names were mad up by me. I'm sure Dai has official names, I just don't know or remember what they were. I believe Skeggi is a Reaper Hill Giant.
