Litko offers plywood bases in 3mm, 1.5mm and 0.8mm thicknesses. I was going to put him on a 25mm base, partly for the integral base size and partly because it is the base size for chaos warriors.Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15428727065347379281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5802656816793750482.post-41930806151287963652014-09-11T06:22:21.039-07:002014-09-11T06:22:21.039-07:00Hi Chico, the 75 x 40 looks pretty good. Is the 75 x 40 a standard base size, or is it custom?Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15428727065347379281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5802656816793750482.post-74973738129642121282014-09-11T00:10:22.224-07:002014-09-11T00:10:22.224-07:00That Reaper figure *is* big, isn't he? Obviously that latter is more work and has a higher risk of damaging either the model or yourself :-( .

Either way, I think I'd use something thin for the base (like 2mm MDF or plasticard) just to keep the height down a bit.Colgar6https://www.blogger.com/profile/07636662295301222390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5802656816793750482.post-9046942063500596192014-09-10T16:26:48.788-07:002014-09-10T16:26:48.788-07:00Both my Giants (Well Giant Trolls) use a 75mm by 4...Both my Giants (Well Giant Trolls) use a 75mm by 40mm and base everybody on the same style of bases as it'll hold the eye better in massed ranked units :)Chico Dankshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16209424634551876747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5802656816793750482.post-52445482589591267062014-09-10T12:06:20.329-07:002014-09-10T12:06:20.329-07:00Welcome aboard :)Welcome aboard :)Rabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10066364524817373862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5802656816793750482.post-89067297729665747212014-09-10T07:44:01.401-07:002014-09-10T07:44:01.401-07:00To be honest, if a model is slightly bigger in a u...To be honest, if a model is slightly bigger in a unit, you don't really care once they're all based and painted, Just go in the street and tell me if you're seeing people all the sme height... I think having it on a base that fits looks way better than trying to cram it on a "legal" base. It really is no problem. Good thnig with the oldhammer approach is that you don't really care about those, you just use what feels right for your models.

Miwing all sort so fmodels in a unit doesn't bother me one bit, painting can tie models who would look totally diffrent otherwise.

Looking forward to seeing your giant , it should fuel me to paint mine !Asslessmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09475252828835332056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5802656816793750482.post-17646335938710019942014-09-10T06:43:27.167-07:002014-09-10T06:43:27.167-07:00For my Elmore Giant, I used a square base of mdf t...For my Elmore Giant, I used a square base of mdf that he would fit on without looking daft.
